On the Fence about Joining Vistage?
Here is what some members would say:
If someone is on the fence, try to get to a meeting and see and experience the interaction. We have had some new members come in in recent months, and they have left awe-struck by how it works, the dialogue, the suggestions, the humility and with all of that, they have signed up before they leave the meeting. That says it all. In this day and age, we are always being sold something, so it’s hard to know if it’s “just another one of those deals”. You have to see it to appreciate it. What sold it for me was when my colleague, Fred, attended a meeting as a guest with Martin, he came into my office and said, “We really need to consider this!” That’s when I knew, if Fred felt that strongly about it, then it’s definitely something we need to consider. You have to see it to believe it! When talking to potential future members, that’s a huge selling point. Get them to a meeting to experience it and the group will sell itself.
There are some really impressive people in our group. To be able to interact with those individuals and be able to work through issues together is invaluable in my opinion. Whether you’re a small business or a large corporation, being able to sit with other leaders to get their input and feedback and perspective is truly invaluable. For somebody who is a CEO, I don’t think you can afford not to. There’s just too much good stuff. I realize that there is a cost aspect to membership, but compared to what you get out of it, you can’t afford not to.

TRY IT! Meet Martin and come to a meeting and see if it’s a good fit for you. Most people are pleasantly surprised by what they get out of it. And have a one on one with Martin to experience his coaching.
People may hesitate because of the cost and the time, which can seem hard to justify. It is hard to put a value on or put an ROI on something that seems intangible. But if it helps you make better decisions, day in and day out, week in and week out, those decisions will turn into real money.
I always walk away from every meeting challenged and thinking “Wow! That was a great meeting!” So many different scenarios come up that people talk about that I may have never experienced but It’s good to have that insight and wisdom and perspective.
